Backstage at Preen by Thornton Bregazzi

Interning at Preen and helping out at the LFW show has been one of my highlights this year!

I spent most of my time working alongside the Collection Manager and was in charge of creating specs for each garment being made in production. I'm a very confident Adobe user, and my Illustrator skills were key here as I was on a Mac every day drawing up garments.

Despite all of the horror stories you hear about interning and working backstage at fashion shows, it was actually a lot of fun and very relaxed. Yes, there were late nights the days before the show, but pretty much all of the pieces were finished about a week before.

Castings took place a few days before the show, with a few dozen models popping in and out of the studio until the early hours. At times it felt like a waiting game, so you always had to be on your toes and prepared to step in and help.

AWOL... Where have I been?

I've had a lot of people ask me about my blog and why there aren't any new posts... Did I completely forget about it? Did I get sick of writing? Can I still be bothered?

The answer is none of the above.
In fact I really wanted to write, but I just couldn't seem to find the time. But now, after a short hiatus, I'm finally back - and super inspired to get writing!

How to write a fab CV

Finishing my second year this summer and heading into placement year is super exciting. I spent a lot of time working on my CV, cover letter and e-portfolio before applying for internships.

If you're like me, a total perfectionist who refuses to post something until it's 10000% perfect, then writing up a CV is definitely going to take a while.
